Pre-wedding Checklist

What colors look best for photos?

Late September usually brings that classic aspen gold. Fall colors, deep jewel tones, and rich earthy neutrals will look especially great against the mountain backdrop.

What is the dress code vibe?

We're calling it Alpine Cocktail Attire, polished enough for a wedding, practical enough for the mountains.

Ladies: Velvet, silk, wool blends, and heavier fabrics are perfect. Bring a stylish layer like a pashmina, blazer, or coat, and choose shoes with some grip: block heels, wedges, dressy boots, or flats all work well.

Gentlemen: A classic suit is great, but tweed, wool, corduroy, vests, and textured layers are especially at home up here. Bring a topcoat or dressier outer layer, and consider Chelsea boots, Chukkas, or lug-sole dress shoes over thin-soled dress shoes.

What will the weather be like?

Mountain weather likes to keep things interesting. Expect daytime temperatures in the 50s, dropping into the mid-30s at night, with the possibility of sunshine, clouds, wind, or even a little snow.

The wedding will be both indoors and outdoors, so dress warmly and bring a jacket you're happy wearing with your wedding attire.

How should I prepare for the altitude?

Hydrate more than usual starting a day or two before you arrive, and take it easy when you first get to the mountains. If you can arrive in Denver or Keystone a little early, even better.

At 11,500 feet, it's completely normal to feel a little more winded than usual.

Are rideshares available?

Uber and Lyft operate in Summit County, but they're much less frequent than in a major city, so we recommend renting a car if you can.

On the wedding day, shuttles will run to and from the venue from 2:45pm to 10:30pm.
